Explore the mushrooms of the Mount – August 19

Saturday, August 19 starting at 11:00 am

Local mushroom maven Meg Madden will lead an exploration of the fascinating fungi of Mount Independence. The wet weather has put a damper on a lot of summer activities, but should make for a very profuse assortment of specimens. To keep things manageable, we’re limiting the number of attendees to 20 people, so please call ahead to reserve your spot.

The event is free, but there is an admission to the site: $8.00 for ages 15 and up, $1.00 for children 6 – 14, and under 6 free. Call 802-948-2000 for more information and to make your reservation.

Meg’s book This is a Book for People Who Love Mushrooms is available at bookstores in the area, including the visitor center gift shop at the Mount.
