Do you see interesting mushrooms in your travels and wish you knew more about what they are? Would you like to learn tips about how to more confidently identify wild mushrooms? Would you like to know more about the fascinating world of fungi in general? Join naturalist, mycologist, and professional photographer Meg Madden for a curiosity walk along the hiking trails of the Mount Independence Historic site. As a myco-educator Meg loves to share her knowledge of the natural world, particularly when it comes to all things fungi!
Admission is $5 per adult. Children under 15 and Mount Independence Coalition members enter free.

Middlebury VT native Meg Madden channels her life-long passion for art and nature into her colorful, textural, and highly detailed photographs of mushrooms and other fascinating organisms discovered on her hikes around Vermont. Meg shares her photos and knowledge of the natural world on her popular Instagram account @megmaddendesign. Her photos can be found popping up in mushroom identification apps, online photography tutorials, and in print and web-based educational materials.
