“Reasons for Revolution” Saturday, June 10.

The Boston Massacre, 1770.

Mount Independence State Historic Site | Saturday, June 10 | 1:00 pm

This illustrated talk by site interpreter Paul Andriscin will cover the events leading up to Lexington Green in April 1775, including rising tensions over social issues, religion, taxes and other issues between the Colonies and the leadership in London. The Sugar and Stamp Acts, Townsend Acts, the Boston Massacre and the Coercive (Intolerable) Acts will be discussed along with differences between the two groups. The decade before the “shot heard round the world” was tumultuous to say the least. This program will help bring that era to life.

It’s Vermont Days weekend, so adminission is free to everyone.
