Upcoming season shaping up nicely

The Annual Spring Wildflower Walk on Sunday, April 28, kicks off a great season of programs at Mount Independence.

The Coalition board has been working closely with the staff of Mount Independence State Historic Site to bring an exciting slate of programs to the Mount. Some of these are annual favorites, and others are fresh, new programs. Here’s a sneak peek at the beginning of the season:

  • Amy Olmsted will lead her popular annual Spring Wildflower Walk on Sunday, April 28.
  • Saturday, May 4, look for another pre-season off the trails tour.
  • The Early Bird Walk with Sue Wetmore will be held on Saturday, May 18.
  • Friday, May 24, will be the official opening day.
  • Saturday, May 25 will be the first of four Brown Bag History programs, informal talks about aspects of the history of the Mount and The American Revolution.
  • The Coalition annual meeting will take place in the morning of Saturday, June 15, and that will be followed by this year’s J. Robert Maguire lecture, featuring Hessian-soldier expert Friederike Baer.

We’ll be announcing more information soon, so stay tuned.
