If you’re coming to Mount Independence in the near future, you will see big, scary detour signs where route 73 heads off west of route 22a. These refer to a bridge that is out after Mount Independence Road runs off from route 73. In other words, ignore the detour signs and head to the Mount as usual. (If you’re going to the Fort Ticonderoga Ferry, however, you need to follow the detour.)
